Challenge Fund Puts £100,000 Up for Grabs
September 18 2006Yorventure has launched a new Challenge Fund that will make £100,000 available to a single environmental or conservation project.
In celebration of its tenth anniversary and image relaunch, the not-for-profit organisation has put aside a £100,000 pot of cash for an exceptional project that successfully combines environmental improvement or conservation which also involves Youth Volunteering.
Community grants officer Angela Pease said “usually our grants to projects such as village hall renovations, play areas and improvements community centres do not top £20,000.”
“The fund represents a very exciting opportunity for applicants to gain substantial grant-aid for an imaginative scheme that ticks all the boxes.”
Each year the new Yorventure Challenge Fund will award either £100,000 to a single outstanding project or £50,000 each to two projects.
The fund was launched on 19 October 2006 with an end-of-year deadline for applications. (An application form can be downloaded from this website).
Announcement of the first successful project or projects will be made in January 2007
