Case Studies
Yorventure has invested almost £7 million in more than 250 projects in York and North Yorkshire and now supports projects in Northern Bradford through tax credits received by Bradford Metropolitan District Council generated by the Yorwaste landfill site at Skipton.
Since Yorventure was first established in 1997, grants have been distributed to a variety of different community and environmental projects; here are just a few examples:

Located within 5 miles of the Yorwaste landfill site at Seamer Carr, the St Columbas Community Hall in north Scarborough was awarded a grant of £10,000 through the Yorventure Landfill tax Credit Scheme.
- St. Mary’s Social Action Centre

Located within 5 miles of the Yorwaste landfill site at Seamer Carr, the St Mary’s Social Action Centre was set up in 1997 to serve the St Mary’s Parish, an area which covers the old town of Scarborough and other areas near to the town centre.

Yorventure awarded £12,000 towards the provision of disabled access and an improved heating system for the Kirk Theatre in Pickering, located within 5 miles of the Yorwaste landfill site at Caulklands.

In November 2002, Yorventure awarded a £24,000 grant towards renovations and refurbishments at Skipton Baptist Church, situated within 5 miles of the Yorwaste landfill site at Skibeden.
